It’s really colorful snacking this month in overseas market, with Nestlé Shreddies Breakfast to Go, Plamil’s new free from chocolate snack and Real Handful yogurt-covered Bundlz for children.

The new deskfast

Nestlé Cereals has launched Breakfast to Go cereal packs aimed at time-pressured workers looking for a ‘desk-fast’ solution for breakfast.

According to Nestlé, the UK out-of-home breakfast market was valued at £4.96bn ($6.46bn) in 2016, and is one of the few meal occasions in growth, with a 5.6% increase last year.

Power of cauliflower  

Caulipower releases cauliflower-based range of tortillas in the US. The new products are available in two varieties – Original and Grain Free. The vegan products feature cauliflower as the main ingredient, which are naturally gluten-free to create ‘vitamin-rich, better-for-you options without compromising on taste,’ according to the company.

Caulipower tortillas will be available on Amazon and at select US retailers.

A treat for kids  

Real Handful is entering the kids snacking market with a new brand, Bundlz. Designed to offer a better alternative in the kids treat snack sector, Bundlz feature oats, cereal and raisins ‘bundled’ up in either strawberry and raspberry yogurt, or apple and blackberry yogurt variants.  Each is made with real dried fruit, is high in fiber, has under 90 calories per serving and up to 40% less sugar compared with other yogurt snacks for children on the market.

Plamil Foods has added a new chocolate bar to its free from snack line up. A little bit of sweetness goes a long way.  So free Smooth has the taste of milk chocolate without dairy and with less than 4% sugars. Made with naturally occurring sugars, it is also gluten free and made in a no nut environment.

Undoubtedly, all the above cases show that snack manufacturers are making their best efforts to modernize and release new products to get more attention of the consumers and expand their market share.
